Israel Standing Together in Grief and Solidarity

Today, I would like to focus on this week’s tragic developments in Israel.

“Agony. Pain. There are no words.
Our hearts — the hearts of an entire nation — lie in tatters.
On behalf of the State of Israel, I bow my head and ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness for not protecting you on that terrible day. Forgiveness for not bringing you home safely. May their memory be a blessing."
President Herzog

Yesterday my wife and I started our days before 6:00 AM watching the caskets of four innocent souls being returned to Israel. Once alive and vivacious Israelis, including the Bibas boys and their mom, were now corpses in a box.

LAST MINUTE EDIT Hamas is continuing to cause us undue and unimaginable emotional pain.  SHIRI's body was not released. News as of 6:00 PM on Thursday.

Just when I thought it could not get worse, it did.  Ein milim, there are no words.

Israeli flags draping the coffins.

How were they killed?

Were they tortured like so many others?

Were they killed back on October 7th? I just hope they were killed then and did not suffer.

Will we ever know?  Does it matter?

How sad, upsetting and depressing. I know that you share in my grief.

I had held out hope that perhaps their lives were going to be spared. Knowing that it was unrealistic and wishing against all sense of reality, I, along with many of you and Jews around the world, have gotten to know their faces and the picture of their mom clinging on to them being captured on October 7th.
