The Jewish Federation is the home office and lead voice of the diverse Jewish communities residing in Western and Northwestern CT. It works to further the welfare and advancement of the surrounding Jewish communities, in Israel and overseas.
Gary entered the non-profit professional world 12 years ago when he became the Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League’s Connecticut Regional Office. In that capacity, he oversaw the League’s efforts to fight prejudice, monitor and expose extremist groups, promote civil rights and build bridges of understanding among diverse groups within the region.
Gary received his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University and his Juris Doctor from New York University.
Today’s presentation will focus on unusual manifestations of Jew hatred including its perspective that Jews are inherently conspiratorial and the related belief that all Jews are equally guilty of the acts of any Jews. He will discuss the Protocols of Zion and the unique benefits afforded the Jewish people by America, distinguishing between freedom of religion and freedom from hate. Israel will be discussed as a mechanism to promote hatred of Jews in a way that doesn’t necessarily sound antisemitic, including the beginning of the effort to portray Israel as a manifestation of all that is hateful to progressive.
