Bus trip to Lower East Side of NYC

Sunday, October 22, 2023 

Join us for a thrilling adventure , as we journey to Lower East Side for a day of cultural fun. Our trip will begin at 8:45 AM when we depart from the Jewish Federation of Western CT.  Please be prompt, we are unable to delay the bus’s departure.

Our first stop will be a nosh at the Essex Street Market where you can find a variety of eateries to choose from. 

Our tour guide will meet us at the market and we continue on to the Bialystoker Synagogue where we will learn the history of this Shul of Grandeur, the largest active Orthodox congregation with its colorful murals representing the signs of the zodiac, and Tiffany inspired glass windows. 

This portion of the tour will end at the Museum at Eldridge Street. We will continue walking down East Broadway, discussing numerous historical landmarks and the importance of the people and their contributions to the growth and success of the Lower East Side.

The tour will include The Henry Street Settlement, Lillian Ward, The Educational Alliance, Shteiblach Row, Seward Park and more as time allows. We will have a little free time before boarding the 4:00 PM bus back to Southbury. You have many choices to choose from The Pickle Guys, Bialy Store, Donut Plant etc. Lunch is not included in the price of the excursion. Please plan accordingly.
