For the first time in state history, antisemitic incidents accounted for the largest share of hate crimes reported to police in Massachusetts in 2024, surpassing all other bias categories, including those targeting Black residents. Law enforcement recorded 147 anti-Jewish hate crimes, an increase of nearly 24 % over the previous year, even as overall hate crime reports declined. Local Jewish leaders said the findings are a sobering indicator of the rise in antisemitism across the state.
