Earlier this month, The Jewish Federations of North America launched a social media based outreach effort to connect with Jews called "What's your #ish?," and our local Federation is participating in the campaign as well. The campaign isn't about giving money, it's about sharing what being Jewish means to you, personally. The outreach effort caught the eye of The New York Times Media & Advertising department, which wrote a story called, "You Don't Have to Be Jewish to Love This Campaign."

JFNA has launched a microsite where "#ishs" from around the social web are displayed for all to see. #ishs can be humorous or light-hearted, meaningful or thoughtful. To have your #ish appear, all you have to do is update your Facebook status or send a tweet (from Twitter) that includes this tag: #ish.
